Challenges of the Energy Sector in the coming summer, and the Role of Renewable Energies (2018)
On Monday, May 7, 2018, the Libyan Organization Of Policies & Strategies organized a discussion panel titled:
"Challenges of the Energy Sector in the coming summer, and the Role of Renewable Energies".
The workshop discussed four axes:
1 / Scenarios of the coming summer under the suspension of work at the Ubari station.
2 / Proposed solutions to meet the increasing demand for Electricity.
3 / The Challenges facing the use of renewable energies to solve the problem.
4 / The Future of renewable energies in Libya.
The discussion panel was attended by Consultant from the General Electric Company (GECOL) as well as Engineers from the General Electric Company of Libya, along with experts in the Renewable Energy sector in the MENA region. In addition to the participation of the Renewable Energy Research Center and the technical director of Al Qemah Company for Renewable Energies in the field of energy alternatives and energy Efficiency. Also participating in the discussion panel were Academics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Benghazi and Tripoli University, as well as Economic consulting organizations, the Audit Bureau, and researchers specializing in the Solar Energy sector.
The recommendations of the panel will be available for publication in early June.
